Review of Nylon Pouch For MUT & Super Tool (LP350) by: Darren Taylor from Norwich. Date: 30-8-2012 I own a Leatherman Super Tool 300 which is my tool of choice when I have a technically demanding day at work. It is too bulky for every day carry, for which I have other Leatherman tools. Mine came with the standard nylon pouch which was ok but a little flimsy. I thought the xl molle pouch would be a better option. I was correct! The good: Very strong build, similar to maxpedition pouches, and MUCH better than the nylon pouch my tool came with. It also has two extra internal pockets and even includes a wrench slot on the molle strap! The BAD: The molle pouch has excellent belt attachment via strong molle strap and webbing on the rear, however there is no option for horizontal carry. There is no option to carry the tool in pliers open position either. These are not really problems for me but may be for others.
My only real gripe is TERRIBLE STITCHING! The pouch was made in china and had lots of loose ends of stitching including one 3inches long! I had to give the whole pouch a trim before I could use it and just hope none of the stitching frays or comes undone. Overall I am happy with my purchase and it is much better than the original Super Tool 300 nylon pouch.
Top marks to Facewest again. Easy ordering, prompt free delivery and cheaper than other websites, especially due to loyalty points! 4/5 Leatherman let down by bad stitching. 5/5 Facewest! Final query: Why does Facewest only stock XL molle and not Leatherman L molle too? I would probably buy one of those for my smaller Leatherman tools if you stocked them in black too!
